Busby Ohio Reception!

Kait & Greg were married in Jamaica right on the beach with amazing sunshine, ocean waves and close family and friends to celebrate. Unfortunately, I was not able to travel with them or capture their special day – but once it was time to get together here in Ohio, I was thankful I was the one they called! While ocean side photos I am sure were  much warmer than the snow filled ones we had here in Ohio, it was a great time capturing memories with them!

We traveled to Glamorgan Castle in Alliance which is actually used as part of the school system but it appears the grounds are opened to anyone. (just no going inside) I highly recommend taking the drive to Alliance for weddings/bridal parties/engagement shoots when in the Akron or Canton area. The castle is stunning up close or a-far and offers many different options for photos. There are enough open areas for larger parties, and not all of the photos have to be taken right along the castle so it offers more than just the stone/marble backgrounds.

Back to Kait & Greg – Kait brought along a “Mr. & Mrs” burlap banner she had made & they both sported bee pins either on the tie or the dress to honor the “Busby” name! Things like this make my heart so happy, I am a sucker for the details like that!  Kait’s dress with the castle made me feel like I was in The Great Gatsby, even more of the reason why this location worked so well for these two.

The reception was held at Lake Cable in Canton, OH which was decorated beautifully by the groom’s sister. (I even heard Greg helped!)  A slide show was made of their time spent in Jamaica to share with those who couldn’t make the trip. The beach glass and sea shells on the tables made everyone feel like they were there with them, a very nice touch I thought to bring Jamaica back to Ohio! 🙂 The night was filled with dancing and laughter, everyone very happy to celebrate the newly weds and lift them up!

Thank you Kait & Greg for allowing me to be apart of your day, I always am honored when clients (friends) stick around with me! 🙂 I wish you two an incredibly love and the happiest of days together!

Smith Wedding – First Moments

My favorite part of a wedding, as a photographer, is before everything starts happening.  The rings, the programs, the invitations… all make such fantastic memories of the most special day a couple will experience.  The bride and groom getting ready are such surreal photos; they are preparing for their wedding after all!

The Smith wedding was absolutely perfect and the day went so smoothly, here are a couple shots from the first few moments of the day… including the bride and grooms first look!

It pays to have beautiful co-workers!

Today, with two of my co-workers, I traveled to downtown Medina to take some late senior pictures of this gorgeous girl! Tori is a senior at Highland High School but is actually already at The University of Akron taking college classes where she is planning to stay after high school graduation here in only a couple of weeks!  She has a contagious smile and I think we all laughed way more on this shoot than any other session I have done.  She is literally a photographers dream and I am sure you will be seeing more photos of her in the future!

Family Time

I love when I get to go home and spend time with my nieces!  Two of them have April birthdays, so natural they have to share their party date…which they love so much!! (total sarcasm)  Whenever everyone is all together of course the photographer aunt needs to snap some shots!  Yesterday was a a busy day for my camera 🙂

First Newborn Shoot! :)

My family welcomed a new baby into the world 12 days ago, and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take baby Alex’s newborn photographs!  While every photographer wishes for the little one to fall asleep, Alex was awake and alert almost the whole time…he wanted to show off those blue eyes of his!  For me personally, it has probably been 2 years since I have seen a newborn baby and the amazement of how small and beautiful they are never fades even after being an aunt several times over.

Alex made the day a lot of fun, and his parents, Mark and Shelly, had the cutest little hats for him to wear that were made by Shelly’s aunt.  Here are just a few quick photos I am posting before I switch gears to school work 😦 (yuck!!) More will be updated as I work through the whole session.  But thank you St. Clair family for allowing me this opportunity!

…now they are engaged!!

I got to shoot with Katelyn and Andrew a couple weeks ago, and since then the couple got engaged! I am very happy for these two and hopefully will have the chance to take their engagement and possibly wedding pictures  🙂  It would be an awesome day to celebrate with this girl for sure! Congratulations to the two of you and I wish you all the best! Enjoy this joyful time in your relationship together.

Just for fall :)

Yesterday I had the pleasure to get some shots of Katelyn and her boyfriend Andrew.  I have known Katelyn for years from attending the same church throughout high school and it’s pretty cool seeing her with someone who makes her so happy.  Her favorite season is fall and simply loves everything about it so naturally she wanted some cute, fun pictures of the two of them.  When I got the message from her of the idea I was so excited.  It will be fun finishing these up!

I need your help!

I have made so much progress in getting my photography business and name out there; through senior pictures, family portraits, and weddings I have been blessed with awesome opportunities!  Since I started this blog the views, comments, and likes I have gotten have been nothing but encouraging, and I thank everyone who takes the time to look at my work. Knowing people are pleased with what I am doing is the best feeling and the feedback you give me I take to heart.  What I need your help with is spreading the word of Dakota Renee Photography even more!  Share the link, tell your friends, ask me for business cards, or anything you think would be helping!  There is so much more I want to do, and so many goals I have for me and photography.  To get there, word-of-mouth is going to be vital!  I would absolutely love and appreciate any help that would be extended my way.  Everyone has been awesome so far so lets keep up the good work!  You guys have helped me so much!

Dakota !
